With gold breaching Rs 1 lakh per 10 grams, Gold ETFs have outperformed Nifty ETFs in SIP returns over the past year. Axis Gold ETF led with a 54.85% XIRR, while Nifty 50 ETFs returned just 2.87–3.03%. Analysts cite central bank buying, inflation, and geopolitical tensions as key drivers, though recent outflows suggest profit-booking amid record prices.

According to AMFI data, investors pulled out funds from gold ETFs in March, even as the price of gold touched Rs 93,000 per 10 grams and breached $3,200 per ounce globally.

Gold investments are rising amid global uncertainties, with ETFs seeing significant demand. October saw a net inflow of ₹1,961 crore, a 59 per cent increase from September. Gold ETFs provide stable returns, making them appealing for long-term investments.

Gold ETFs: There are a total of 17 gold exchange traded funds with total assets under management (AUM) of ₹39,823 crore out of which ₹1,233 crore worth inflow was done in Sep alone.
