Listed broking firms faced significant profit declines in the March quarter due to stricter regulations imposed by SEBI, including the scrapping of popular derivative products and reduced trading activity following a stock market downturn. These regulatory changes, such as uniform fee structures and true-to-label norms, impacted retail participation and increased transaction costs.

“TCS stock had formed a ‘Bullish Hammer’ pattern on the monthly chart and the prices have surpassed the high of the candle, which indicates bottoming of the stock price and a trend reversal. Traders can buy the stock for a target of Rs 3800 in the next few weeks,” Ruchit Jayantilal Jain, VP, Head – Equity Technical Research at Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited, said.

The loan book grew by 9.5% to ₹9.5 lakh crore while deposits rose by 7.2% to ₹13.1 lakh crore year-on-year compared with 6.7% and 3.8% growth in the previous quarter, respectively. Credit growth was buoyed by 22.1% increase in retail loan book and 12.5% rise in the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME).

Nifty futures ended Monday on a strong note, rising 4.10% to close at 25,051. Meanwhile, India VIX dropped nearly 15%, settling at 18.39, indicating a decline in market volatility.
