Indian benchmark indices rebounded strongly on Tuesday after Monday's sharp decline. Sensex gained 234 points to close at 78,199, and Nifty rose 92 points to 23,708, supported by financials and Reliance, amid positive global cues and cautious market sentiment.

The Indian market began 2025 positively, with Sensex gaining 368 points and Nifty up 0.4%, led by financial services. Broad-based recovery hinges on Q3 earnings growth and government capex. Core sector data boosted auto, power, and industrial stocks.

Indian markets declined sharply on Tuesday due to concerns about the US Fed's rate decision and a weak rupee. Selling pressure was seen across sectors, with heavyweight financials and blue-chip stocks leading the decline. Investors are cautious ahead of key central bank decisions from the US, Japan, and the UK.

As many as 15 stocks hit their 52-week lows today. BSE 500 stocks such as Prince Pipes and Fittings Ltd and Tata Technologies Ltd hit their respective one-year low levels. That said, 250 stocks touched their one-year high levels today.

The Nifty continues to hold above the breakout from an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern, signaling strength in the market, said Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities. "In this scenario, a buy-on-dips strategy appears to be a wise approach, particularly with the possibility of a short-term move toward 25,500," De added.
