The India Cements Ltd., now an Aditya Birla Group firm, on Saturday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 14.68 crore for the quarter ended in March 2025. It had reported a net loss of Rs 60.55 crore in the January-March period a year ago, according to a BSE filing.

Retail investors have reduced their stakes in 63 small and midcap stocks, which saw declines between 61% and 20% in 2025. UltraTech Cement Ltd. received a demand order of about Rs 36 crore from the Ujjain tax authority. The order was passed by the additional commissioner of CGST and central excise in Ujjain, demanding a goods and services tax of Rs 17 crore in taxes, and another Rs 17 crore in interest and penalty, according to an exchange filing. In a second order, it demanded a tax of Rs 99 lakh and Rs 1,04 crore as interest and penalty.

The Competition Commission of India approved on Friday the proposed acquisition of the India Cements Ltd. by UltraTech Cement Ltd. for Rs 3,954 crore. Earlier this month, the antitrust watchdog had sought clarifications from the two companies regarding the deal, which they responded to. The CCI will issue a detailed order about its approval later, according to the CCI order that has been uploaded on its website. As of September, UltraTech held a 22.77% stake in India Cements.

The India Cements Ltd (ICL) on Friday reported widening of consolidated net loss to Rs 339.13 crore for the second quarter ended September 2024, impacted by a decline in selling price. It had incurred a loss of Rs 80.07 crore in the July-September period a year ago, according to a BSE filing from ICL, in which rival Aditya Birla group firm UltraTech Cement has announced to acquire a majority stake.
