Markets ended flat on Thursday as BSE Sensex shed 98 points to close at 53,416.15 while Nifty50 ended at 15,938.65 after losing 28 points. Hero Motocorp, Axis Bank, HCL Tech, and SBI fell over 1% in todays trade. Meanwhile, Sun Pharma, ONGC, Dr Reddys Labs, and Kotak Mahindra gained today.
Two small-cap stocks namely Hardwyn India Ltd. and Panth Infinity Ltd. have announced bonus shares issue and fixed record date to determine the eligibility of shareholders. Bonus share is the issue of additional shares offered to the current shareholders without paying any additional charges on the basis of number of shares held by shareholders.
Data showed that at least 60 stocks on the BSE have rallied over 250% since October 19, 2021, when the benchmark equity index BSE Sensex hit its all-time high of 62,245.43. Since then, the 30-share index has plunged nearly 13% to date.
Indian equity markets turned negative on Wednesday as selling pressure built up in IT and FMCG counters.
