Indian markets closed higher on Thursday as financial and energy stocks surged. The BSE Sensex rose 609.86 points to 74,340.09, while Nifty 50 gained 207.40 points to 22,544.70. RBIs $21 billion liquidity infusion and lower crude prices boosted investor sentiment.

Godawari Power & Ispat Ltd. has completed the acquisition of 51% stake in Jammu Pigments Ltd. on a fully diluted basis. According to the company's exchange filing on Tuesday, it has completed the acquisition of an additional 2% stake, or 3,36,069 equity shares, of Jammu Pigments for a total consideration of Rs 9.98 crore.

Shares of Godawari Power & Ispat Ltd (GPIL) have turned negative in the last six months. The stock of the steel producing major is down 4% during the period. In comparison, Sensex has risen 1.75% in six months. The multibagger stock, which hit its record high of Rs 253.60 on December 12 this year, is down 14% in eight sessions.

Godawari Power & Ispat secured a 7-year RLNG gas supply agreement with GAIL for its new pellet plant. The company's stock, which has performed well this year, closed at Rs 234.10 after a 1.6% rise. The stock is currently trading above its key moving averages.

Stocks including Diffusion Engineers, CESC, Ola Electric, BSE, Bajaj Finance, Bank of Baroda, DMart, Godawari Power and more will be the spotlight on Friday, October 4.

An analyst at LKP Securities said that Godawari Power has given a consolidation breakout following a rally on the daily timeframe and is expected to maintain its price momentum in the near term.

Multibagger stock: The stock of the steel producing major, which closed at Rs 40.73 on September 23, 2019 hit an intraday high of Rs 1070 in the current session.

The multibagger stock zoomed 7.47% to Rs 1120 against the previous close of Rs 1042.10 on BSE. Market cap of the firm climbed to Rs 15,028 crore.

Godawari Power & Ispat shares surged 6% on BSE to an all-time high after approving a Rs 301 crore share buyback. Som Distilleries shares dropped 16% due to a Madhya Pradesh plant issue.
