While Sensex and Nifty lagged, as many as 107 stocks on the BSE rose to touch new 52-week highs while 28 were down at new lows.

While bulls were in control, 71 stocks on BSE soared to fresh 52-week highs while 23 scrips were at new lows. Some of the marquee names at fresh highs include ITC, Chalet Hotels, Siemens, and many more.

The overall chart pattern indicates small upside for the short term, but the higher possibility of Nifty reversing down from 17,700-17,750 levels in the next couple of sessions. Immediate support is placed at 17,450 levels, says Nagaraj Shetti of HDFC Securities.
