Vijay Kedia appears to have exited Tejas Networks after a stellar 975% return in five years, as his name is missing from the latest BSE shareholding data. The exit aligns with weak Q1FY26 results, where the company reported a sharp drop in revenue and a net loss of Rs 194 crore.

Sensex traded 360.20 pts or 0.44 per cent higher at 82,547.01 as at 1.16 pm (close to intraday high of 82,632.99) and Nifty 50 climbed 105.35 pts or 0.42 per cent to 25,166.25.

Tejas Networks' stock plummeted after reporting a sharp revenue decline due to delays in a BSNL 4G project purchase order, impacting its financials. The company's revenue fell drastically, leading to increased losses. TCS, also reliant on the BSNL deal, experienced a revenue dip due to the project's slowdown, highlighting the contract's significant influence on both Tata Group companies.

The Nifty IT index closed 0.4 per cent up at 37424.6.

In the Nifty 50 index, 35 stocks ended in the green, while 15 stocks closed in the red in today's trade.

Equity benchmark indices staged a mild recovery on Tuesday after falling for four trading sessions, boosted by dip in retail inflation, optimism on potential RBI rate cuts and steady foreign capital inflows.

Shares of Tejas Networks crashed 10% on Tuesday after the company posted a consolidated loss of ₹193.87 crore in the first quarter ended June 2025, due to a decline in sales.

Soma Textiles, Godfrey Philips, Rajoo Engineers, Nesco Ltd and Prozone Intu Proper, hit their fresh 52-week highs at 11:27AM.

The Nifty Pharma index was trading 0.4 per cent up at 22500.85.

The Nifty IT index was trading 0.72 per cent up at 37541.7.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.77 per cent up at 23732.45.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.46 per cent up at 57025.7.

HCL Tech, Tata Steel, Eternal, Cipla and JSW Steel were among the top losers on NSE.

In the Nifty 50 index, 30 stocks were trading in the green, while 20 stocks were trading in the red.

Indian benchmark equity indices began trading on a positive note, mirroring the upward trend in Asian markets. This rise was further fueled by a sharper-than-expected decline in domestic inflation, reaching a six-year low. Nifty Auto, Pharma, Realty, and other sectoral indices experienced gains, while broader market indices like Nifty Midcap and Smallcap also saw an increase.

Taking cues of easing geopolitical tensions, equity indices surged in early trade after a mutued opening. However, market experts believe investors would embrace a wait-and-watch approach.

The benchmark equity indices closed with gains on Wednesday, led by share prices of Titan Ltd. and Grasim Industries Ltd. The NSE Nifty 50 ended 200.40 points, or 0.80% higher at 25,244.75, while the BSE Sensex closed 700.40 points, or 0.85% up at 82,755.51. During the day, the Nifty rose 0.89% to trade at 25,266.80 and the Sensex rose 0.93% to 82,815.91.
