In the forthcoming earnings season, Emkay Global Financial Services believes that the near-term sector outlook staying muted, on weak execution by companies and an unfavourable macro.

Manorama Industries Ltd. promoters Vinita Ashish Saraf, Shrey Ashish Saraf and Agastya Saraf along with shareholder Ritu Saraf have offloaded stake worth Rs 200 crore through open market transactions on Tuesday. On the other hand, fund houses like LIC Mutual Fund, Bank of India Mutual Fund and Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund bought shares in the company.

A total of 38 companies, which are part of the BSE Midcap and BSE Smallcap indices, have reported over a 100% growth in net profit during the September 2024 quarter.

Domestic equity indices declined on Wednesday, led by falling financial stocks amid foreign outflows and weak corporate earnings. The BSE Sensex dropped 426 points and the NSE Nifty fell 126 points, with analysts noting a rangebound trading pattern likely to persist.

Support for the Nifty is seen at 22,000 and 21,700-800 levels. On the higher side, the immediate resistance for the Nifty is at 22,150-175 levels, followed by 22,300-350. Overall, the coming week should set up the market for a large trending move.

The Indian rupee touched record low 83.57 during the week and ended marginally lower at 83.47 on April 19 against its April 12 closing 83.42.

While bulls were in control, 71 stocks on BSE soared to fresh 52-week highs while 23 scrips were at new lows. Some of the marquee names at fresh highs include ITC, Chalet Hotels, Siemens, and many more.

On BSE Sensex, a total of 67 stocks rose to new 52-week highs in the afternoon deals.

BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 were trading nearly 1 per cent down on Friday, dragged by losses in index heavyweights such as Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel.

Shares of Adani Wilmar and Ruchi Soya hit 5% lower circuit on the BSE amid volatile sentiment in the broader indices.
