Former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran has sent a legal notice to his brother Kalanithi, claiming he unlawfully transferred shares of Sun TV Group worth thousands of crores.
Starting February 28, 2025, 16 stocks including United Breweries and PVR Inox will exit the derivatives segment, trading only in the cash market. February 27 is the last day to trade their F&O contracts. The exclusion follows the December 20 announcement by NSE.
This announcement comes after a previous decision to add six companies to the F&O segment, namely Castrol India, Gland Pharma, NBCC, Phoenix Mills, Solar Industries, and Torrent Power.
The NSE of India will include six new stocks in the Futures and Options segment from January 31, 2025. The stocks are Castrol India, Gland Pharma, NBCC, Phoenix, Solar Industries India, and Torrent Power. Details about market lot and scheme of strikes will be announced on January 30, 2025.
NSE has announced the exclusion of 16 securities, including Abbott India, PVR Inox, and Gujarat Gas, from the F&O market starting Feb. 28, 2025, as part of new SEBI guidelines aimed at improving liquidity and preventing manipulation.
The number of stocks on the NSE Nifty 200 index with a consensus ‘buy rating totaled 61 as of Tuesday, the lowest in at least a decade, data analyzed by Bloomberg show. LIC Housing Finance Ltd., Sun TV Network Ltd. and Dr. Lal PathLabs Ltd. are among stocks that saw multiple downgrades this quarter, putting their average analyst rating at ‘hold.
"On the daily charts, we can observe that Nifty has witnessed a breakdown from the consolidation on the downside. The selling pressure can intensify on the downside. Immediate support stands at 24037 which is the 40-day moving average. A breach below it can take the Nifty down towards 23600. On the upside, 24300 is the immediate hurdle from a short-term perspective," Jatin Gedia of Sharekhan.

The Nifty Media index has shed 15 per cent so far in 2024 and is the sole index trading below the 200-DMA on the NSE. Chart suggests better days are likely ahead.
Based on the OI percentage, a total of 74 stocks were on the short-covering list which included Vodafone Idea, IndiaMART InterMESH, Biocon, Page Industries, and Sun TV Network.
