The National Stock Exchange announced on Wednesday the exclusion of five securities from the F&O market, effective Aug. 1, 2025. However, the existing unexpired contracts of expiry months May 2025, June 2025 and July 2025 would continue to be available for trading till their respective expiry. Aarti Industries Ltd., Birlasoft Ltd., Hindustan Copper Ltd., Mahanagar Gas Ltd., Piramal Enterprises Ltd., are the five securities to be excluded from the F&O market effective Aug. 1.

Indian benchmark indices closed flat on Monday, with IT and financials offsetting concerns over weak earnings and foreign outflows. The Nifty oscillated within the 24,000-24,350 range. Analysts suggest a potential bullish reversal with support at 24,000 and resistance at 24,500-24,550. A break below 23,970 could weaken the structure.

Indian markets ended in the red due to weak corporate earnings and foreign outflows. Nifty faces consolidation, with bullish momentum in some stocks like Indian Hotels and Page Industries.

Support for Nifty is now seen at 24,100 and 24,000. On the higher side, immediate resistance for Nifty is at 24,450-500 levels and the next crucial resistance is at 24,700-750 levels, said Tejas Shah, Technical Research Analyst at JM Financial & BlinkX.

Foreign portfolio investors turned net sellers at Rs 5,062 crore on Thursday. DIIs bought shares worth Rs 3620 crore.

"Apart from the concern of continuous outflow of the foreign investors, the disappointment on the earnings front is largely weighing on the sentiment. We thus reiterate the sell on rise view in the Nifty index and suggest maintaining stock-specific trading approach citing the prevailing choppiness due to earnings," said Ajit Mishra – SVP, Research, Religare Broking.

The short-term trend of Nifty continues to be negative. A decisive move below 24,500-25,450 levels is likely to open the next downside target of 24,000. Any rise up to the immediate resistance of 24,700 could be a selling opportunity, said Nagaraj Shetti of HDFC Securities.
