Indian benchmark indices moved sideways on Tuesday, consolidating gains from last weeks rally that was fueled by easing geopolitical tensions and hopes of a U.S. trade agreement. The Nifty largely stayed range-bound throughout the session before ending on a flat note.

Indian markets ended higher Thursday, with Sensex up 321 points and Nifty adding 81, as a US court ruling eased trade tension fears. Gains in IT and financial stocks supported sentiment despite weak domestic triggers and rising oil prices.

Sensex declined 106.01 pts or 0.13 per cent to 81,445.62 as at 12.36 pm, and Nifty 50 dipped 38.35 pts or 0.15 per cent to 24,787.85.

IT index resilient, other sectors drag market; geopolitical tensions impact indices, with Nifty midcap and smallcap falling significantly.

The Nifty Pharma index was trading 0.62 per cent up at 21257.35.

Metal stocks lead market rally, pharma, realty, IT also positive; Sensex up 2.12%, Nifty up 2.28%, 2402 stocks advance.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.14 per cent up at 51670.6.

Cipla, ONGC, Hindalco, Dr. Reddys and Sun Pharma were among the top losers on NSE.

TCS, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, Infosys and ONGC were among the top losers on NSE in today's trade.

Mangalore Chem, GRM Overseas, NACL Industries, JSW Holdings and Cura Tech, hit their fresh 52-week highs during the day.

The Nifty Bank index closed 0.49 per cent up at 51597.35.

The Nifty Realty index closed 0.1 per cent down at 853.8.

HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Infosys and Bajaj Auto were among the top losers on NSE.

NACL Industries, JSW Holdings, Atal Realtech, Supriya Lifescience and Anik Industries, hit their fresh 52-week highs at 10:55AM.

The Nifty IT index closed 0.84 per cent up at 36283.5.

The Nifty Bank index closed 1.02 per cent up at 51348.05.
