India Business News: Tata Steel has decided to call off the merger with TRF due to the significant improvement in its business performance. Find out more about this development and its impact on Tata Steel.
The five companies being integrated are Tata Steel Mining Ltd, Tata Steel Long Products Limited, S&T Mining Company Limited, The Tinplate Company of India Ltd, and Tata Metaliks Limited.
The company is one of the few manufacturers of CRS-grade rebars and supplies to the Indian armed forces as well as to other national infrastructure projects.
Tata Metaliks Ltd has been sanctioned by the National Company Law Tribunal for amalgamating into Tata Steel, causing the cancellation of a board meeting to announce the subsidiary's financial results. The merger will be considered alongside Tata Steel's results for the quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2023.
According to a regulatory filing by Tata Metaliks, the board meeting, scheduled for January 12, to declare company's financial results has been cancelled.
A long build-up was seen in 58 stocks, which included Delta Corp, HDFC Asset Management Company, Gujarat Gas, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, and Mahanagar Gas.
The RBI has set the redemption price at Rs 6,132 per gram which is a 128% (Rs 3,448) premium over the issue price of Rs 2,684 per gram, the interest income is calculated over the issue price at 2.5% per annum for the maturity period of eight years
Based on the OI percentage, 64 stocks were on the short-covering list. These included Sun TV Network, Torrent Pharma, Balkrishna Industries, Bosch, and ABB India.
A short build-up was seen in 50 stocks, including ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company, Bank of Baroda, IndiaMART InterMESH, Balrampur Chini Mills, and Coforge.

A short build-up was seen in 61 stocks, including HDFC Bank, LTIMindtree, L&T Technology Services, Bata India and Gujarat Gas. An increase in OI along with a price fall indicates a build-up of short positions.
