Several major stocks have seen significant market cap declines in 2025, led by LIC (-Rs 84,059 crore), Trent (-Rs 71,076 crore), SBI (-Rs 65,194 crore), Zomato (-Rs 59,832 crore), TCS (-Rs 59,499 crore), HDFC Bank (-Rs 58,833 crore), HCL Tech (-Rs 56,322 crore), Siemens (-Rs 55,272 crore), L&T (-Rs 50,852 crore), and Varun Beverages (-Rs 50,812 crore). ITC faced the steepest erosion (-Rs 91,000 crore) due to its hotel business carve-out, weak earnings, and market sentiment.

Indian markets closed sharply lower, with Sensex dropping 1.60% and Nifty 1.37%, driven by losses in heavyweights like Reliance and ICICI Bank, alongside concerns over Trumps trade tariffs.

The NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex pared most gains from the day's high. Both the indices were trading almost flat around noon. Dixon Technologies India Ltd., Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., Multi Commodity Exchange of India, Newgen Software Technologies Ltd., and Zomato Ltd.'s share prices were in news around noon.

The Indian market extended its winning streak to a third session, driven by gains in financials and Reliance Industries. Positive sentiment followed softened U.S. inflation data, boosting hopes for a Federal Reserve rate cut. Wall Street also saw strong earnings reports, further enhancing market sentiment.

Newgen Software shares fell after eight sessions even as the IT firm announced a fresh order win. It won an order worth $2 million.

The IT stock has surged 118% in a year and gained 106.51% in 2024. It has zoomed 821% in two years.

Indian markets tumbled on Friday, mirroring global anxieties over the US Federal Reserve's projected slower rate cuts. Heavy selling in financial and IT stocks pushed the Sensex down 1.5% and Nifty 1.52%, as foreign funds flowed out. European markets also declined, while US stocks rebounded slightly after a positive inflation report.

The multibagger stock closed 1.22% lower at Rs 1130.65 on Thursday against the previous close of Rs 1144.60 on BSE. Market cap of the firm slipped to Rs 15,862 crore.

Indian indices extended their losing streak for the sixth consecutive session, dragged by corporate earnings concerns and Middle East tensions. Nifty fell 0.87% to 24,795, and Sensex dropped 0.78%. Analyst Rupak De sees a bearish trend, with support at 25,400. Jatin Gedia sees a short-term target of 24,500.

Benchmark equity indices recovered to close flat on Tuesday, with gains in metal stocks offsetting declines in other sectors following top consumer China's property-support measures.

Multibagger IT stock: Newgen Software shares ended 3.18% lower at Rs 870 after hitting record high in early trade on Wednesday.

Market rose for the fifth consecutive session today as Sensex ended 759.49 points or 1.05 per cent to a lifetime closing high of 73,327.94.
