Indian shares were seeing some profit booking on Tuesday after a strong rally in the previous session. The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 647 points, or 0.8 percent, to 81,782 in early trade while the broader NSE Nifty index dropped 150 points, or 0.

State-owned REC Ltd on Monday said it has raised Rs 5,000 crore through issuance of bonds. The offering included Rs 3,000 crore through five-year bonds at a coupon of 6.87 per cent and Rs 2,000 crore through 10-year bonds at a coupon of 6.86 per cent, a company statement said.

SEBI has restricted Gensol Engineering Ltd and its promoters from trading, citing fund diversion. The company's stock dropped 5%, closing at a 52-week low. The investigation continues as market surveillance measures are enforced.

SEBI has also prohibited both Anmol and Puneet Singh Jaggi from serving as directors or key managerial personnel at Gensol during the period of the restriction.

Gensol share price: The stock eventually settled 2.29 per cent lower at Rs 130.15. At this closing value, it has cracked 83.16 per cent in the calendar year 2025 so far.

Gensol Engineering shares fell 5% to a  fresh 52 week low of Rs 289.90 against the previous close of Rs 305.15 on BSE. Market cap of the firm slipped to Rs 1,101.64 crore. Total 0.21 lakh shares changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 62.72 lakh on BSE.
