Carysil Ltd disclosed its wholly owned subsidiary, Acrysil USA Inc., will acquire 100% membership interest in United Granite LLC (UGL) in Virginia, USA. UGL specializes in producing kitchen tops for retail, residential, and commercial projects with a revenue of $12.4 million. The acquisition, valued at ₹65 crore, will be funded through debt and internal accruals. Chirag Parekh, Chairman & Managing Director of Carysil, stated the acquisition marks their entry into the North American market, leveraging technological expertise and product range to enhance their foothold in the kitchen segment. Shares were down 2.01% to Rs 659.05.

The Nifty Pharma index was trading 0.33 per cent down at 12627.45.

The Nifty Realty index closed 0.05 per cent down at 424.95.

The Nifty Bank index closed 0.52 per cent up at 42232.7.

In the Nifty 50 index, 17 stocks ended in the green, while 33 stocks closed in the red in today's trade.

Stocks owned by the idols of Dalal Street including Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Dolly Khanna and Ashish Kacholia retreated up to 60 per cent amid the ongoing correction in the domestic equity market since October 19, 2021, when the benchmark equity index BSE Sensex scaled its all-time high of 62245.43.

"The next higher levels to be watched are around 17,000 levels. Any sustainable move above 17,000 levels may cause momentum towards 17,100-17,200 levels," said Rajesh Palviya of Axis Securities.
