While indices soared, 62 stocks on the BSE touched fresh 52-week highs while 28 scrips on the exchange were down with losses, reaching fresh 52-week lows.

The near term trend shall continue to remain directionless as Nifty50 appears to be in a new trading range of 16,350 to 16,160 levels, said Mazhar Mohammad of Chartviewindia.in.

Nifty to see a 100-point gap-up opening

BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 were set to see a gap-up opening on Tuesday, as suggested by trends on SGX Nifty in early trade.

Nifty futures were trading 58.50 points or 0.37 per cent up at 15,787 on Singaporean Exchange, suggesting a positive start for BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 on Tuesday

Trends on SGX Nifty indicate a positive opening for the index in India with a 52 points gain.
