Elections 2024: RattanIndia Power Ltd has been the only smallcap stock from the BSE Smallcap index that doubled investor wealth since April 19, the day six-week long elections kicked off.

The quarterly earnings season commenced in the second week of April and remains ongoing, with more than 260 companies slated to announce their fourth-quarter earnings throughout this week.

Among broader indices, BSE Midcap, Smallcap and Largecap indices fell 1.6 percent, 0.5 percent and 0.9 percent, respectively.

On the sectoral front, Nifty Media index shed 10 percent, Nifty Realty index down 4.5 percent, Nifty Bank index fell 2.6 percent, and Nifty PSU Bank index down 2 percent. On the other hand, Nifty Pharma index up 1.7 percent.

Biggest losers on the Nifty were IndusInd Bank, Coal India, ONGC, Adani Ports and SBI Life Insurance, while gainers were Cipla, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank and Hero MotoCorp

BSE Sensex gained 195.45 points, or 0.31 per cent, to settle at 63,523.15, while NSE's Nifty50 rose 40.15 points, or 0.21 per cent, to end the day at 18,856.85 for the day.

After the recent acquisition, Fairfax has taken its overall holding in the company to 34.6 per cent. With this deal, the overall promoter stake in Quess Corp has increased to 56.4 per cent.

The company’s PAT stood at Rs 88.51 crore during the corresponding period of 2021-22, Quess Corp said in a regulatory filing. Revenue from operations of the company grew by 21.18 per cent during the quarter under review to Rs 4,465.55 crore compared to Rs 3,684.98 crore in the same period of the last financial year.

Markets News: Trends in the SGX Nifty indicate a flat opening for the broader index in India

The key support level for the Nifty is 17,775, followed by 17,711 and 17,608. If the index moves up, the key resistance levels to watch out for are 17,982, followed by 18,046 and 18,150.

Shares of Quess Corp gained 4.32 per cent to Rs 642.9 against the previous close of Rs 616.25.

Sensex rises 443 points to 52,265 and Nifty ends 143 points higher at 15,556. Market ended lower on June 22 amid negative global cues.

Trends on SGX Nifty indicate a negative opening for the broader index in India with a loss of 72 points.

The Nifty50 index has breached below the key moving averages - 20 SMA (17,780), 50 SMA (17,485), and 100 SMA (17,640), says Malay Thakkar of GEPL Capital.

BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading over one per cent higher on Monday, the first trading day of calendar year 2022, on the back of buying in index heavyweights such as HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), ICICI Bank, among others.

Amid tepid market momentum, 199 scrips on the BSE traded at 52-week high values while 10 stocks were down at 52-week lows.

The benchmark BSE Sensex and Nifty50 have declined 5 per cent each in the last one month. Among the broader peers, the BSE midcap and smallcap indices have slipped 4 per cent and 2 per cent, respectively, in the period.
