The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.05 per cent up at 47339.65.

The Indian benchmark indices ended flat on Friday amid the highly volatile session. Sensex gained 36 points or 0.06% at 58,803 while Nifty fell 3.30 points or 0.02% at 17,539. Four stocks have gained more than 15% in trade today. These stocks are Surana Solar, PAE Ltd, Shiva Mills, and Aimco Pesticide.

In the Nifty50 index, 42 stocks closed in the green, while 8 stocks ended in the red.

"The market is now completely under the control of bulls and is set to move higher. Having realised that even their relentless selling has not brought the markets down, as perhaps they expected, the FIIs are now on the backfoot," said Dr V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services.
