TVS Shrichakra Ltd's shares rose 1% after unveiling its new product range at EXCON 2023, South Asia's largest construction equipment expo. TVS Eurogrip showcased tyres for soil compactors, skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders, industrial tractors, wheel loaders, dump trucks, and motor graders. VP OHT Sales & Marketing, S Mathan Babu, said they are ready to meet India's market needs. Shares rose to Rs 4575.05 at 1.49 pm on BSE.

MRF Ltd's shares breached the ₹50,000-crore market cap on Friday. It closed at ₹1,17.916.10, up 0.41%. Balkrishna Industries has the highest market-cap among tyre makers. MRF's low float of 42.41 lakh shares keeps its market-cap lower than other prominent stocks.

The short-term technical outlook for Nifty continues to be in favor of the bulls, with support seen at 20089-19909 and resistance at 20500-20751, says Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities.

For the week, BSE Sensex lost 940.37 points or 1.54 percent to settle at 59,900.37 and Nifty50 fell 245.85 points or 1.35 percent to close at 17,859.45 levels.

Indian rupee ended flat at 82.72 per dollar on January 6 against its December 30 closing of 82.73.

On BSE, 93 stocks hit their 52-week high-level today, while 28 recorded their one-year lows. The overall market breadth stood weak as 2,068 shares were seen declining while 1,321 were advancing.
