BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 were trading over half a per cent higher on Wednesday, a day before weekly F&O expiry.

On July 5, the Nifty 50 closed at 15,810.85 points falling by 0.15% and the Sensex closed at 53,134.35 points, falling by 0.19%, as the US Dollar index reached a fresh 52-week high level at 106.24. Against INR also reached a fresh low of 79.15. Expecting major FII outflow from the Indian stock markets, Nifty and Sensex closed bearish today.

On BSE Sensex, a total of 67 stocks rose to new 52-week highs in the afternoon deals.

Demand remained weak during February as cement transported through rail declined 6 per cent MoM and 1 per cent YoY.

The benchmark BSE Sensex and Nifty50 have declined 5 per cent each in the last one month. Among the broader peers, the BSE midcap and smallcap indices have slipped 4 per cent and 2 per cent, respectively, in the period.
