Bajaj Finance sold 0.88 percent stake in Strides Pharma Science and Amansa Holding bought 1.24 percent stake.

The Nifty Bank index closed 1.38 per cent up at 45634.55.

BSE Sensex rose 167.06 points, or 0.23 per cent to close at 71,595.49. NSE's Nifty50 jumped 64.55 points, or 0.30 per cent, to end the session at 21,782.50.

Orchid Pharma, Schneider, Tree House Edu, TRF Ltd and Apollo Pipes, hit their fresh 52-week highs at 11:05AM.

The Nifty Realty index was trading 1.26 per cent down at 865.05.

Q3 results today: Over 900 companies including Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC, Adani Green Energy, Bajaj Finance, BEL, GAIL, ITC, L&T, Marico, NTPC, PEL, SRF Ltd, Sun Pharma, Tata Motors, and UPL are slated to unveil their Q4 results 2024 on January 29.

Q2 results 2023 news: Apart from the Dussehra stock market holiday, widely tracked companies such as Reliance Industries and Maruti Suzuki will declare their earnings this week.

BSE Sensex posted mild gains of 52.01 points, or 0.08 per cent, to settle at 67,519, while NSE's Nifty50 added 33.10 points, or 0.16 per cent, to end at 20,103.10 for the day.

AA Plus Tradelink has also entered a substantial business agreement with the commodity trading firm CNX Corporation, which has expressed its intent to forward export orders worth Rs 170 crore to the company.
