In the Nifty 50 index, 37 stocks ended in the green, while 12 stocks closed in the red in today's trade.

A bear grip is confirmed when an index or a stock plunges 20 per cent or more from its most recent high.

Mazhar Mohammad of Chartviewindia.in said the selling at highs hints at the lack of conviction on the part of bulls to push Nifty50 higher.

In the Nifty pack, 8 stocks were trading in the green, while 42 stocks were trading in the red.
